The second edition of the Tour of Sicily ends with the Gibilmanna individual time trial.
A first stretch of transfer takes the cyclists into the alleys of the ancient Cefalù, along the course and then onto the famous promenade. A few kilometers and then start to climb towards Gibilmanna where the individual time trial will take place.
10.6 km across, a long battle with the background of the Aeolian Islands.
Salvatore Busacca is once again among the men, ahead of Filippo Alfonso and Mathias Von Geurts. The women’s time trial sees Ilse Pfeifer in first place ahead of Loredana Pangaro and Stefania Cogo. Here the complete stage classification.
The men’s overall standings see a change on the podium, with the two Sicilian Busacca and Alfonso in the first two places and the Swedish Micheal Johansson overtaking the outgoing Swiss champion Thomas Girardi. Even the long female round sees two Italians in the lead, Ilse Pfeifer and Stefania Cogo, followed by the Swedish Maria Kromnow.
The average round is won by Dionisio Di Liberto on Marco Cricchio and Mauro Dugheri, among the women Loredana Pangaro triumphs over Nadia Bellomo.
