The Giro della Sicilia resumes after the rest day with a fairly easy stage, but which hides a pitfall for the many climbers: a flat timed stage. With the wonderful backdrop of the blue sea, the cyclists face a long cycling route along the coast that from Finale leads to Cefalù and Termini Imerese.
Arriving near the seafront the timed section begins, 10 km of plain, interspersed with a few overpasses, and the last 800 meters on a serpentine with peaks of 12% that leads up to the Belvedere di Termini.
This time Italy has to give way to northern Europe: it is in fact the Dutch Van Gelderen to triofnare on the Swiss Girardi and the other Dutch Von Geurts. Only fourth Busacca followed by the Swedish Johansson and the other Sicilian Alfonso. Among the women the Swedish Maria Kromnow has the best followed by Ilse Pfeifer and Loredana Pangaro.
After a brief stop on the lookout point of Termini, the cycling section resumes with the panoramic climb to the village of Caccamo where cyclists will stop for a refreshment with the background of the medieval castle and the visit to the same.
Then continue towards Sciara and down to the sea towards, with a brief sixth to the mythical grandstands of the Targa Florio and then to Finale di Pollina at the Resort.
The overall ranking always sees Busacca among the men and Pfeifer among the women.
Tomorrow there will be a demanding stage with over 2800 meters in altitude.
